An Eye for an Eye…

Recently, my journey into work has become a little tiresome. Now I know I am not the only one here that gets a little bored of travelling for an hour back and forth every single day but I had entertainment! My iPod, the Metro (mostly for Sudoku), magazines and books were holding back a journey as dull as a windowless room with a broken bulb. So I have come up with a solution. Hand held gaming.

At the time of writing, there are only 2 hand held consoles worth a purchase, as the iPod touch hasn’t taken that step yet. Here I am then, stuck between the Nintendo DS and the Playstation Portable. The DS has a huge catalogue of games, only some of which I am interested in or at least aimed at people over 16! In fact, that is the major draw back for the DS, its age appeal. There are plenty of games to choose from but the majority of them I wouldn’t even want to pick up, let alone be seen playing with it on the tube. A good example is Nintendogs. one of the best selling games for the DS and yet has no appeal for me.

The PSP is in a completely different ball ground though. It certainly has some great looking games that really appeal to me - such as God of War, Patapon, Lumines and a few others but that’s about it. One thing I haven’t mentioned however, is that I did once own a PSP, back in the days when it was this chunky, dead pixel ridden travel TV. It didn’t take me long to store it away in the cupboard before selling it to a friend (for a very good price I might add).

I’ll add to the TekMex as soon as I got my act together and made a choice, played it a little and able to post an opinion.

Finally online - after reading a lot of sites and blogs on the latest… well everything, I thought I would step in and contribute to the fray. So what I plan on doing is not testing, reviewing and commenting on every little bit of technology or game that is released but to ad my view on what the average Joe would buy with his hard earned cash!

I welcome all then to TekMex - the blog with my view on anything and everything that tickles my fancy.
